Legacy FC 14 Card Finalized

The lineup for Legacy Fighting Champion 14 has been finalized with an eight-fight main card, including a welterweight title fight between champion Jorge "Macaco" Patino (27-13-1) and challenger Jeff Rexroad (5-1).

Elsewhere on the card, NCAA Division I national wrestling champion Darrion Caldwell and MTV Caged star Matt "Danger" Schnell make their pro debuts. The event takes place on September 14 at the Arena Theater in Houston. The main card will air on AXS TV (formerly HDNet).

Patino also holds Legacy's lightweight title and has won his last four fights, including a title win over Pete Spratt and a defense against Mike Bronzoulis. Rexroad has fought exclusively for Legacy during his two-year career and is also on a four fight win streak.

Caldwell (0-0) was a three-time state high-school champion. He won the 2009 NCAA Division I national wrestling championship at 149 pounds, upsetting Hodge Trophy winner Brent Metcalf in the finals. He will face Nate Garza (3-5) in a featherweight bout. Garza is currenlty on a three-fight losing streak after losses to Angel Huerta and Cody Williams. Schnell (0-0) had a 10-2 run as an amateur. He will face another debut and flyweight in Ryan Hollis (0-0), who went 4-1 as an amateur in Texas.

Other fights include Tachi Palace Fights veteran Dustin Ortiz (8-2) vs New Mexico fighter Rafael de Freitas (5-0) and light heavyweight Justin Ledet (4-0) vs Matt Thompson (17-9), who is currently on an 8-1 run that includes a submission win over Jake Rosholt. Other bouts include bantamweights Alan Nascimento (6-0) vs. Cody Williams (3-2), welterweights Brandon Farran (6-4) vs. Leandro Da Silva (3-0-1), and welterweights Lester Batres (2-1) vs. Jon Harris (5-2).

The preliminary card feautres welterweights Charlie Ontiveros (1-0) vs. Edgar Verdin (2-3), 180-pounders Patrick Hutton (3-4) vs. Terrance Ferguson (1-1), light heavyweights Chris Reed (0-2) vs. Jermaine Anugwom (0-1), featherweights Roxy Adams (1-0) vs. Katalina Malugalu (2-0), and welterweights Ryan Spann (0-0) vs. Patrick Greene (0-2).
