Strikeforce women's bantamweight fighter, Julie Kedzie (16-10, MMA; 0-1, SF) recently spoke with MMAjunkie about her upcoming fight with former Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion, Miesha Tate (12-3, MMA; 5-2, SF).
On her 'boring' personality for interviews: "If I'm boring, people don't have to interview me. I don't care. I could promote the fight myself. I only have, like, maybe 5,000 followers on Twitter as opposed to [Tate's] 56,000. So if she's the one people are interested in, they can talk to her. I know this makes me sound horrible or boring or whatever, but it's possible to view mixed martial arts from both of those standpoints. Even though the sexy way to do it is to trash talk, that's just not how I do it, and I've been very successful in my career.
On opting out of talking trash to hype her fight with Miesha Tate: "I'm doing my own thing. I'm staying true to myself as a fighter and a person, and that's my story. For me, it's what I train to do. It's my job. It's my passion. It doesn't matter who's in front of me."
